I know this image is a bit weird, but the truth is, this is who I am. Not so much a wallflower, but an introvert. I think introverts often get a bad rap, being labeled as shy or anti-social, but that's not necessarily true. We just tend to internalize everything, so we come across as quiet.
Along the way, I've come across people who have made me feel guilty about being an introvert, but we should never feel bad about being who we are. It took me a long time to figure out that their's nothing wrong with me, even though I don't fit into the mold that society thinks I should be in. The percentage of introverts in this world is small, but that doesn't mean we should be outcasted for being different. We should all embrace who we are, as well as, accept others for who they are. If someone would rather stay home and read a book instead of going out to a party, that doesn't mean they're anti-social, that's just their way of recharging their batteries. And there is nothing wrong with that. The world is made up of so many different people and that's what makes it so beautiful. If we were all the same, then life wouldn't be very interesting, now would it?
At the end of the day, I'm grateful for who I am. It's what gives me this unique ability to create the images that I do. The more I create the more I understand who I am, and the older I get, the more I appreciate my unique weirdness. So, here's to being true to yourself and loving every minute of it. Cheers!
The Inside Scoop:
I'm really proud of this one. It's something that's been on my mind for several weeks, so it feels great to finally see it come together. I think it's beautiful and weird, and that's what I love most about it. . . its weirdness. I don't usually share the before pictures, but I thought it'd be fun to show all the pieces that went into making this image.
Fun fact: the fireplace is from the outhouse at Drayton Hall, which was built sometime in the 1700s. My husband and I went on a tour a fews month back. At the time, I had no idea what I was going to use it for, but I thought it was awesome. I'm so glad I remembered to take my camera!
